We pioneered the Isotropic Super Texture starting back in 1991. I was working for one of the largest bearing companies in the US, and worked on a project to reduce the surface finish on bearing rollers to 4 Ra or less. These rollers were too large in diameter to hone, so a colleague suggested I contact a small chemical company that claimed to be able to reduce surface finish in vibratory equipment with a novel chemical process.

After processing these rollers, my Material Engineer took electron microscope pictures of the new surface and found it to be Isotropic in nature. I asked the small chemical company's President if he understood what type of metal to metal contact surface he was creating, and he had no clue. So I told him I would explain what he had, if he hired me to sell his process. We then pioneered the process for the next 30 years, taking that small chemical company from a $5M to a $20M enterprise.

I established this finish into the two largest heavy equipment, the big three automotive, Nascar Racing, Aerospace and the largest Ring and Pinion Manufacturer in the US.  In the course of this work I met some of the most intelligent people in the manufacturing industry.
